Many students land their first job while in high school. For some, getting the clothing needed to secure or maintain that job can be a struggle. Fresh Start for Success, a branch of Project Fresh Start, wants to alleviate that barrier by providing professional or work-required clothing through scholarships.
Fresh Start for Success is making sure Ankeny teens have the tools they need. In light of Iowa’s unemployment rate dropping to 2.6 percent, the second-lowest in the nation, many local businesses are struggling to fill positions.
“No student should be prevented from seeking or accepting a job because they cannot afford clothing,” said George Tracy, Fresh Start for Success co-founder. “Our mission is to support the student by providing a funding source for all or part of the clothing needed for the interview or job.”
Ankeny Community Schools is unified in its commitment, passion, and vision so every learner is prepared to achieve a lifetime of personal success.
