World Food Prize

ANKENY, Iowa (October 25, 2018) - Three Ankeny students were among those selected from across the globe to present and participate in the World Food Prize Global Institute.

Ankeny Centennial High School sophomore Allison Lundberg, Ankeny High School senior Megan Dao, and Ankeny High School sophomore Savannah Edwards submitted papers and presented their research at the Iowa Youth Institute at Iowa State University in April.  From there, they were chosen to represent Iowa at the Global Institute October 17-20.

Students from 27 states and 10 countries were represented.  They participated in dialogues about issues affecting food security, heard speakers from around the world discuss global concerns, participated in awareness and action activities, met World Food Prize laureates and world leaders, and presented their own research to a panel of experts and a team of their Global Institute peers.
