Host an exchange student for the 2019-2020 school year
As many of you may know the Ankeny Community School District and El Sistema Educativo Copán in Mexico City, Mexico have enjoyed an educational and cultural exchange for the past 27 years. The core of the exchange is an annual trip for students from each school to visit the other for a period of ten days. Three years ago we expanded the partnership by adding the opportunity for a family to host an exchange student from Copán for the entire school year.
We are currently in the process of looking for a family who may be interested in hosting a high school student from Copan for the 2019-2020 school year. The Ankeny Community Schools are fortunate to partner with the Ankeny Rotary Club to facilitate the formal paperwork and process for this exchange. Once a host family has been determined, their name will be submitted to the Ankeny Rotary Club who will lead the next phase of the process.
While it is nice for the host family to have children in high school, it is not necessary. Any family living in the Ankeny School system is welcome to host. The Copan student will arrive in early August of 2019 and leave in June of 2020. If you are interested or know of any who might be or if you have any questions related to the exchange, please email email@example.com or firstname.lastname@example.org.
Ankeny Community Schools is unified in its commitment, passion, and vision so every learner is prepared to achieve a lifetime of personal success.
