Both Ankeny High Schools Selected for Computer Program

Ankeny High School and Ankeny Centennial High School are two out of 1,000 schools across the country selected for the Amazon Future Engineer Program for the 2019-2020 school year.

In partnership with Edhesive, the Amazon program helps students develop a foundational understanding in core computer science and programming concepts. This program is also designed to inspire students in computer science and develop their understanding of how technology and computer science can impact and shape our world.

"Computer science skills are some of the most in-demand in the modern economy, and we have created Amazon Future Engineer because we believe young people from all backgrounds should have help from childhood to career so they can have a future in this highly paid, rapidly-growing field,” said Jeff Wilke, Amazon’s worldwide consumer CEO.
