ANKENY, Iowa (January 9, 2020) - Ankeny Community School District's college and career program, Orbis, has been awarded a STEM BEST® (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math; Businesses Engaging Students and Teachers) Program Enhancement Fund by the Iowa Governor’s STEM Advisory Council.
The 2019 Enhancement Fund supports previously awarded STEM BEST programs that show evidence of how the funds would enrich or expand their current programs, strengthen partnerships, enhance experiences for students, and increase participation of students of diversity. Orbis was named a STEM BEST program in 2017.
The Orbis program, in its second school year, empowers students by teaching them life skills as they partner with local businesses on real-world projects.
