911.00 Emergency Management Planning
In accordance with the provisions of the Homeland Security Presidential Directive (HSPD) 5, Ankeny Community School District must coordinate with other governmental entities to respond to emergency events. An integral part of this coordination is the National Incident Management System (NIMS), a common management system and structure by local, state, and national government.

Emergency Management Planning Rules and Regulations:
The Superintendent/designee, in accordance with the directives of this Emergency Management Planning and the adoption of NIMS will:
- establish a District level Emergency Operations Center
- coordinate planning with local, state and national government for preparedness in an emergency
- develop training for District staff to perform the functions needed in an emergency
- schedule exercise activities associated with adopting the Incident Command System
It will be the responsibility of the Superintendent/designee to monitor the development of these directives and to report annually (as needed to the Board) the progress toward these objectives.
