911.00 Emergency Management Planning

In accordance with the provisions of the Homeland Security Presidential Directive (HSPD) 5, Ankeny Community School District must coordinate with other governmental entities to respond to emergency events. An integral part of this coordination is the National Incident Management System (NIMS), a common management system and structure by local, state, and national government.

Because the Ankeny School Board understands the importance of providing a safe and secure learning environment, and the critical need to coordinate all phases of emergency management with the partners and stakeholders in our community, especially members of the response community, the Board accepts and adopts the guidelines of the National Incident Management System (NIMS). The Superintendent/designee is charged with developing the appropriate rules and regulations in accordance with NIMS standards.
