Assistant Principal Abby Wilcox

Hello! My name is Abby Wilcox, and I am the assistant principal at Westwood Elementary School.

I graduated from the University of Iowa with a BA in Elementary Education and multiple endorsements (5-8 Math, 8th Grade Algebra for High School Credit, PK-12 Talented and Gifted, K-8 Reading, 5-8 Language Arts, 5-8 Science, & 5-8 Social Studies). I started my career teaching 5th grade reading and social studies in Winterset, IA. Then, I moved to Ankeny and began teaching math at Prairie Ridge Middle School.

I completed my master’s degree in Teaching, Leadership, & Cultural Competency through the University of Iowa, and I earned my principal licensure through Drake University. I am currently pursuing my Ed.S. degree, also from Drake University.

In my free time, I enjoy spending time with friends and family, watching movies, playing volleyball, biking, and cheering for the Hawkeyes and Cyclones!
