Closing and Delays
Should weather or an emergency situation result in the closing or delay of school, the district uses several methods to notify parents.
2020-2021 Snow Days & Remote Learning
As we head into the winter weather season and begin planning for second semester, we want to review our procedures for inclement weather and potential school cancellations. Our school calendar includes the flexibility to allow for two school day cancellations without need for students to make the days up at the end of the year. In the event that we experience more than two days, the district will add the missed day(s) to the end of the school year.
Parent Notification System
Text and email messages are sent via Blackboard with the phone numbers and email addresses in Infinite Campus. This means that it is very important to keep your information updated in the Infinite Campus system so that we are able to contact you in an emergency.
- For morning closings before school has started, the system uses the primary contact phone number and email address in Infinite Campus.
- For closings and early dismissals, after school has begun, the system uses all contact numbers and emails in Infinite Campus, including emergency contacts.
Phone calls are only utilized in non-weather emergencies. Certain messages may be sent to specific grades or buildings, as opposed to district-wide. For example, a message about the cancellation of evening activities may only be sent to parents of secondary students if no other classes or schedules are affected.
An alert message will be posted at the top of this website.
