Preschool Teacher Ashley Gellings

Hello! My name is Ashley Gellings and I’m a preschool teacher at Terrace Early Learning Center. I have been teaching preschool since 2012 and in Ankeny since 2022.

I grew up on a grain farm in Northwest Illinois. I received my A.A. in Professional Education from Highland Community College (IL) and B.S. in Elementary Education (Early Childhood-Middle Childhood emphasis) from the University of Wisconsin-Platteville. I also have an Inclusive Settings Birth-Third Grade endorsement from Northwestern College (IA).

I started my teaching career as a general education preschool teacher in Wisconsin and Minnesota. I stayed home with my son for two years and after our move to Iowa, I returned to the classroom initially as preschool paraprofessional and then preschool/early childhood special education teacher.

In my free time I enjoy reading, baking, rooting for the Iowa Hawkeyes or Chicago Cubs and staying busy with my family.

I enjoy working with our youngest learners and strive to provide a caring, nurturing environment to help all learners grow during their preschool year. I look forward to learning and growing with your child this school year!
