Physical Education/Health Brandt Carlson

Welcome To Ankeny High School!

My name is Brandt Carlson and I primarily teach Strength and Conditioning Classes at Ankeny High School.  I received my undergraduate degree (Exercise Science / Recreation) from Northwestern College in 1996, my teaching license (Physical Education and Health) from Simpson College in 2002, and my masters in Educational Administration from Emporia State University in 2009.  I started my education career at Urbandale Schools in 1996, continued at Eagle Grove Schools from 2002 – 2005, and completed eleven years at Northwestern College as an instructor of Kinesiology and assistant men’s basketball coach in 2016.  I moved to Ankeny following my time in NW Iowa and  I have loved teaching and coaching (boys basketball, boys track) in this community and I am looking forward to working with your child.
