5th Grade Cally Carlson

Hello, Rock Creek Community!

My name is Cally Carlson and I am a 5th grade teacher at Rock Creek Elementary. I am excited to be able to work in this amazing community and have the opportunity to support and serve the incredible students and families of Ankeny!

I graduated from Iowa State University in 2016 with my Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education. I have endorsements in Reading and Social Studies as well as a minor in Learning Technologies. In 2021, I graduated from Buena Vista University with my Master’s Degree in Teacher Leadership, Curriculum, and Instruction.

My passion for teaching started at a very young age as many of my family members are in the education field as well. I strive to make every child feel seen, heard, and loved by offering a safe and welcoming classroom environment where we can grow to become a class family. My goal is to meet each student where they are and support, as well as challenge, them to achieve their goals and then set new, even higher, goals to aim for next.  I also enjoy making lifelong memories with my students and seeing them become incredible leaders each year!

In my spare time I enjoy spending time with my husband and two dogs, going to football games, reading, and spending time outside.
