Instrumental Music Dave Brown

My name is Dave Brown, and I’m happy to be the band director at Northwest and Rock Creek elementary schools.  I began teaching for Ankeny Community Schools in 2017.

Prior to Ankeny, I was the band director at North High School in Des Moines for four years.  Before that, I was the band director at Collins-Maxwell Middle School and High School in Maxwell for twelve years.

I earned a Master of Music degree from the University of Northern Iowa, and a Bachelor of Music degree from Iowa State University.

I am originally from Council Bluffs, where I graduated from Abraham Lincoln High School.

My wife and I have lived in Ankeny since 2003.  Our son and daughter attend Southeast Elementary School.
