Social Science Don Young
Welcome,
My name is Don Young and I teach 7th Grade Social Studies, also called Contemporary Global Studies, for the 7A team. I earned my undergraduate degree from St. Ambrose University in 1992 from Davenport, Iowa and completed my Masters degree in Education from Viterbo University in La Crosse, Wisconsin in 2010. I have been married since 1988 and have two adult twin children, Maddie and Trevor. My test of patience comes from my dog Murphy. He oftens feels the need to tell me he wants to go outside just so he can eat bugs, especially Cicadas.
Contemporary Global Studies will focus on global current events and how they impact us as global citizens. The topics we will focus on are:
- World Democracy
- Elections Around the World
- Civil and Equal Rights
- Poverty
- Child Labor
- Immigration and Migration
- War
- Financial Literacy
