ESOL Erica Blocker

I graduated from the University of Northern Iowa in 2009 with a degree in elementary education.  I also have endorsements in reading, English/language arts, mathematics, and English Language Learners.  I received my Master’s degree in K-5 mathematics from Walden University in Minneapolis. I taught Title 1 math and reading in Des Moines for 2 years before coming to Ankeny in 2012.  I have taught 1st grade ever since I have been in Ankeny! I love the curiosity of first graders and all the growth they make in reading during the year!

My husband and I have live in Ankeny with our 3 children.  We love to have family movie nights, go for walks, and cheer on our favorite sports teams: Cyclones, Panthers, Chiefs, and Cubs!
