5th Grade Jacob Gilbert

Hello, Rock Creek Community!

My name is Jacob Gilbert and I am a 5th grade teacher at Rock Creek Elementary. I am very excited to join this community and build a Rock Creek family.

My teaching journey started at Simpson College and from there I transitioned to University of Phoenix where graduated in 2012 with a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education.  In 2016, I graduated from Northern Arizona University with my Master’s Degree in Educational Technology.  Teaching has always been an interest of mine.  My father was a 6th grade social studies teacher for over 30 years and my sister has been in education for almost 20years.  I have been teaching for a decade starting in Arizona and most recently in the Ames Community School District.

Within my classroom, it is my vision to create a fun and engaging environment where everyone feels welcomed, cared for, and listened to. It is my intention to create a love and passion for education that each and every learner can continue to build on throughout their life.  We are all lifelong learners and I will help them on their path.

Outside of school, I enjoy watching football (49ers), playing video games, spending time with my family, and enjoying life.
