AELP Janine Roode

Hi there!  My name is Mrs. Roode and I have taught AELP in Ankeny since 2009.   I graduated from Upper Iowa University with a degree in K-6 Elementary Education and endorsements in English Language Arts and Reading.  I then went on to Drake University to obtain my endorsement in Gifted and Talented and a Masters of Science in Education.  I am also continually taking courses in math instruction,  as well as, professional development in the area of gifted and talented.

I love my job because it is different from day to day and I get to see fabulous students and work with amazing teachers at two buildings!   My husband and our three kids moved to Ankeny from Michigan in 2004 and have made this our home ever since.  Now our three kids have graduated from Ankeny High School and college and are out on their own.  (It really does go by quickly!)  We are also have grandchildren that we love to spoil!   In addition to a human family, we also have our crazy puppy, Simon, and our two feisty cats.
