Preschool Teacher Julie Sander

Hello!  My name is Julie Sander (Ms. Julie) and I am a core classroom preschool teacher at Terrace Learning Center.  As an early childhood special educator, I enjoy working with young children and the dynamics of the classroom.  Teaching young children is truly my passion and strive to help all individuals reach their fullest potential inside and outside of the classroom.

I began my career with Ankeny Community School District as an Early Childhood Special Educator in Fall of 2021.  My bachelor’s degree is Early Childhood Special Education and Master’s Degree in K-6 Reading & Literacy.  I have taught kindergarten, first grade, and college courses over the years.   My work with Iowa State University focused my publications, professional presentations, and national teacher’s conventions in the area of critical thinking and science inquiry in the early childhood classroom.

I live here in Ankeny with my four children. I enjoy competitively racing in local running events, coaching multiple youth team sports, and volunteering on various committees in our community.  Currently, I lead organize a charitable 5K event and an active competitive soccer club board member.
