Principal Kate Cisney

Hello! My name is Kate Cisney and I am the principal at Northwest Elementary School. I went to the University of Iowa and earned my Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education. After teaching middle school and third grade, I attended Drake University, where I earned my Master’s degree as a Reading Specialist. I then spent several years in the Ankeny school district as a first grade teacher, Instructional Coach, and School Administration Manager. After receiving my Education Specialist degree from Drake University, I was welcomed into Northwest as the building principal.

I am passionate about teaching and leading. I strive every day to walk alongside our students, staff, and families as we live out our Ankeny mission of ensuring that every student is prepared to achieve a lifetime of personal success!
