5th Grade Lindsey Ocheltree

Hello, Rock Creek Community!

My name is Lindsey Ocheltree and I am a 5th grade teacher here at Rock Creek!

In 2018, after running an in-home daycare and working in Early Childhood Education for many years, I began working as a Special Education Paraeducator and taking night classes at Upper Iowa University in Des Moines to obtain my elementary teaching license. In December 2020, I graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education and endorsements in Reading and English/Language Arts. I began my elementary teaching career at Rock Creek in the fall of 2021.

I am truly honored to be a part of the Rock Creek community and to have the privilege of working alongside the families and students that Rock Creek serves.  I have a passion for helping all children reach their potential and love to challenge students to be curious and take chances when learning. My goal is to create a collaborative learning environment where students learn from and inspire one another. I also strive to be an inspiring and empowering force, and to create visible and real change, in the lives of all students in my classroom, be it cognitive, social, or personal.

When I am not learning and growing alongside my students, I enjoy spending time with my husband and our three children, cheering on the Iowa Hawkeyes, reading, and spending time outside.
