Preschool Teacher Megan Wimmer

Hello! My name is Megan Wimmer and I have been teaching preschool in Ankeny since 2014.  I began working with children at the age of 12, when I regularly babysat for a family with triplet boys.  I babysat for many years, as well as working at a before and after school program for several years in high school and college.  I’ve provided nanny services and respite care services and I worked as a Special Education associate for 2 years.

I graduated from Upper Iowa University in 2012 with a unified degree in Early Childhood & Special Education in addition to a reading endorsement.  Preschool is my favorite age to work with and I am passionate about supporting our youngest learners and learners with disabilities.  I believe in each and every student I work with and it is such a joy to watch students learn and grow during their time here at Terrace.

In my free time I enjoy spending time with family and friends, shopping, watching movies, dancing in the kitchen, and going on Target runs to buy things I don’t need with a Starbucks in hand.  I like coffee, memes, flair pens, candy, puns, the color pink, sunflowers, and storage/ organization bins.  My husband and I have three children and 2 cats, Cinder and Phoenix.  We enjoy finding new parks to visit, art activities, and going on pajama drives.
