AELP Tammy Sass

My name is Tammy Sass, and I am an AELP teacher at Parkview Middle School. I earned my BS in psychology from Iowa State University in 1997. After spending several years working with at-risk youth and then training dolphins at the Indianapolis Zoo, I returned to school. In 2003, I earned a MAT in secondary science education from the University of Iowa  and began teaching 9th grade physical science in Ankeny. I moved to teaching 8th grade physical science when the curriculum changed, and then eventually taught 8th grade Integrated Science. In 2018, I completed a K- 12 Gifted Education endorsement through the University of Iowa. I am thrilled to be able to combine my passion for working with gifted students with my passion for teaching at the middle school level. My family includes my husband Shawn and my daughter Anna, as well as a handful of critters. In my free time, I like to watch ISU sports, read, shop, and spend time with friends and family.
