2021 Ankeny Board of Education Election Results
The Ankeny Board of Education elections were held on Tuesday, Nov. 2. Unofficial results show Sarah Barthole, Joy Burk, and Trent Murphy as the winners of the election. There were seven candidates that campaigned for the election.
The Ankeny School Board is a seven seat board. Returning members include Vice President Amy Tagliareni, Deshara Bohanna, Katie Claeys, and Ryan Weldon.
The members of the Ankeny Community School Board of Education are elected at large for four-year voluntary terms. The Board of Education follows a governance model. In this process, the Board gives direction to the school district as to their priorities and goals, and the administration then develops the best procedures and practices to fulfill those goals.
The new board members will be sworn in at the Tuesday, Nov. 16 board meeting.
