Principal Ben Huebsch Named 2023 Iowa Talented and Gift Administrator of the Year
The Ankeny Community School District is delighted to announce that Parkview Middle School Principal Ben Huebsch has been selected as the recipient of the 2023 Iowa Talented and Gifted Administrator of the Year award by the Iowa Association for Talented and Gifted (IATG) This prestigious honor recognizes administrators who have demonstrated an unwavering commitment to the unique needs of gifted and talented students and their families.
The Administrator of the Year award is presented to a comprehensive public or private school administrator who has shown exceptional dedication to gifted learners through advocacy, education, and networking. Principal Huebsch’s exceptional contributions in these areas were highlighted in the nomination submitted to IATG, attesting to his outstanding support for talented and gifted learners.
His commitment to gifted students and their families is evident through:
Advocacy: Principal Huebsch has consistently encouraged informed educational professionals, parents, policymakers, and all stakeholders to take appropriate action to benefit gifted learners.
Education: He has played a pivotal role in strengthening and promoting practices that support the identification of gifted and talented learners and the accommodation of their social, emotional, and intellectual needs.

Ben will accept the award at the upcoming IATG annual conference. The event will take place on October 16-17, 2023, at the Sheraton West Des Moines, with the Administrator of the Year award presentation scheduled for Tuesday, October 16 at noon in the Convention Center.
