Northeast Elementary Teacher, Kristen Recher is Presented with Golden Apple Award for Exceptional Teaching

Our very own Kristen Recher, a phenomenal 5th-grade teacher at Northeast Elementary, has been honored with the prestigious Golden Apple Award! Sponsored by WHO-13 and IMT Insurance, this award recognizes just nine teachers annually for their outstanding contributions.

5th-grade student Gwendolyn Evans nominated Ms. Recher, highlighting her dedication to ensuring every student feels valued and motivated in the classroom. Gwendolyn’s heartfelt letter described Mrs. Recher’s boundless enthusiasm, active participation in school events, and even her fun antics like dressing up in costumes.

But it doesn’t stop there! Mrs. Recher wrote personalized letters to each student during winter break. Gwendolyn expressed to her mom how much she misses Mrs. Recher during weekends and can’t wait to go back to school.

We’re truly lucky to have Mrs. Recher as part of our district and Northeast Elementary. Her love for her job, students, colleagues, and the Ankeny community shines bright every day. Let’s give a huge round of applause to Mrs. Recher for her unwavering commitment and dedication!
