The Ankeny Community School District has been named to the list of America’s Best-In-State Employers by Forbes.

America’s Best-In-State Employers 2022 were identified in an independent survey based on a vast sample of approximately 70,000 Americans working for companies with more than 500 employees in the USA. Across 25 industry sectors, 1,380 employer brands were ranked among the top employers.

Top-ranked employers were chosen in part due to the willingness of current employees to recommend their employer to their family and friends. Participants were asked to rank their employer in a series of categories, including the safety of the work environment, the competitiveness of compensation, opportunities for advancement, and openness to telecommuting. The Ankeny Community School District is the fourth-ranked employer in the state of Iowa.

“We are honored to be named as one of the top employers in the state of Iowa,” said Jodie Graham, Executive Director of Human Resources for the school district. “We continually evaluate our current practices and innovate often to ensure our employees feel valued and have access to professional development so they may continue to grow in their careers. Recruiting and retaining talented people is a top priority for the district.”

“This honor is especially exciting to us as we work to implement our new strategic plan,” said Superintendent Dr. Erick Pruitt. “One of the core pillars of the plan is talented people, and our goal is to have an effective teacher in every classroom, an effective leadership team in every building, and an effective, student-focused staff working across the district. This recognition helps to provide a benchmark for where we currently are and highlights the importance of continuing to engage and support our talented teachers and staff.”

The Ankeny Community School District employs nearly 2,800 Central Iowa residents. For more information on the district, including current employment opportunities, visit our careers page.
