Apd

The Ankeny Police Department, in partnership with Ankeny Schools, will host active threat response training at Parkview Middle School starting Monday, June 3. The training will continue through June 21st and will provide law enforcement officers with skill training in areas like medical response, scenario-based incidents, post-incident aftercare, and much more. Agencies attending the training include Ankeny, Altoona, Clive, Dallas County, Johnston, Norwalk, Urbandale, West Des Moines, Windsor Heights, and Waukee. The Ankeny Community School District is permitting police to utilize this facility to provide officers in training with a better understanding of its layout and design.

“It’s a great opportunity for first responders to sharpen their skills and become familiar with our buildings in the event of an emergency,” said Jon Davis, Ankeny Schools Safety and Security Specialist.

The training will be held Monday through Friday and run most of the day.
