Communication with the Board

Communication with the Board of Education

The Ankeny Board of Education values your opinion and input. There are several ways to communicate with your school board members.

Email the Board

Contact information for individual board members is on the School Board page. Email all members of the Ankeny Board of Education at one time via this form. Due to the number of spam emails coming through to the Board email, this process has been changed from a group email to a form in order to help Board members see and respond to communication in a timely manner. In keeping with law and policy, any communication directed to the Board of Education will be answered by one board member based upon an internal schedule.  In most cases, you should expect a response within 2-3 business days of your outreach.

Get on the Agenda: Board Meeting Communication

There are two avenues available to you as outlined in board policy 213.00, Public Participation in Board Meetings:

  1. Attend a board meeting and request to address the board at the visitor sign-in table before the meeting begins. You will be given an opportunity to address the board at a predetermined point in the agenda.
  2. Place your topic on the board agenda in advance and then address the board. To place your topic on the agenda, please fill out the form below.

(Please note: Due to Iowa Open Meetings Law, the board will not be able to take any action on your comments.)

The Board meetings are live streamed and recorded.  Recordings, which include your public comments, are maintained on YouTube for 5 years. To be included on the agenda, online communication requests should be submitted before the Friday preceding the Board meeting.
