Student Teacher, Practicum and Observation
Welcome to the Ankeny Community School District (ACSD) Student Teaching, Practicum, and Observation Program. We believe the observation, practicum, and student teaching experience represents the most critical phase in the development of future teachers. ACSD is committed to matching preservice teachers with exceptional instructional leaders within our district, while also pairing them with district coaches to maximize support. Please find our placement process below. Our ultimate goal is to be a strong partner to colleges and universities in ensuring all preservice teachers placed in our district have a robust and rich experience, ultimately preparing them for their teaching career.

Ankeny Community School District will place up to 40 student teachers per semester. There may be some additional limitations on placements if multiple students request for the same content area. Placements will be prioritized by the completion date of the application.
